Fall and Winter Happenings at the Rowayton Library
History Book Club Co-sponsored with the Rowayton Historical Society
Fall and winter are the perfect seasons to gather at the library to chat about the latest nonfiction selection of the History Book Club. The title for the next meeting is Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time by Dava Sobel and will be discussed on Wednesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. Contact the library so we can reserve you a copy! Refreshments served. Dates for future meetings are Wednesdays: November 29, January 31 and March 28.
Domestic Policy Discussion Group
Wednesdays, October 4 – November 15, 7:00-8:30pm
Erik Rambusch will facilitate discussion of domestic policy issues that the country has been grappling with over recent months. Each week participants will be given reading assignments from the Facts on File database exploring various sides of the selected issue. Topics include health care, immigration, criminal justice, the environment and more.
Would you like to meet up with interesting individuals to talk about current events, the latest big hit on Broadway, upcoming museum exhibits, short stories, and more? If so, stop by the library and find out what articles are being discussed. The magazine issue is on us.
Great Decisions Discussion Group
Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30pm Begins January 24 and runs every other week through May 2
You are invited to join America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. Led by Erik Rambusch, participants engage in lively debate about the issues and topics most relevant to the United States today. When you register, you will receive a Briefing Book of articles about the eight topics to be covered.

7th Annual Rowayton Turkey Trot
Thanksgiving, November 23 at 9:30am
Race begins at the Rowayton Community Center
The Rowayton Library has been selected to be a primary beneficiary of one of Rowayton’s favorite holiday events, which will also benefit local kids’ sports programs and the Rowayton Gardeners. Registration will soon be open online at rowaytonturkeytrot.com. The Turkey Trot comprises 5k and 1 mile routes. So plan on coming out to have fun and work up a healthy appetite, all while supporting the Rowayton community. Hope to see you there!
