RCA’s Rowayton Youth Soccer
Opening weekend September 9th
The 2017 Rowayton Soccer season is under way with well over 300 players improving their skills and enjoying friendly competition. Rowayton Youth Soccer is a recreational community soccer program run by volunteers for children from 4-18 years old and is running for 10 weeks from September 9 through mid-November this year.
We have five age groups: 4-5 year olds; 6-7 year olds; 8-10 year olds; middle schoolers, and a high school team. While games are certainly competitive, recreation is our priority. Play occurs locally in Rowayton (except for middle and high schoolers). The Saturday morning games have become a local tradition of good spirited competition, bringing both the players and parents together as a community.
The RCA has made a significant investment toward our goal of continuing to improve our kids’ soccer development by contracting with a professional soccer training organization for weekday practices. Also, this year, we split boys and girls at each age group. This was done to help with advancing player skills, and in hopes of increased participation.
As a volunteer-based organization, we are always looking for parents willing to coach or act as team communication coordinators. For additional information, please contact Meghan Russo.
Come join the fun as the Rowayton Platform Tennis Association celebrates its 51st season. We’ll start with a Family Fun Day Season Opener at the Community Center Paddle Courts – a date in October TBD. There will be hot dogs & hamburgers, free lessons for the whole family and demonstrations by area professionals. You don’t have to be a member to attend!
Platform tennis is the best fall/winter/spring outdoor sport. If you would like to become a member or get information about our expanded lesson and clinic programs, men’s and women’s league play or the popular Junior program run by Bill Pank go to our web site at rowaytonpaddle.net.
